1 "Decorating for Halloween at the Asylum, 1994" When it came to Halloween Georgie would go all out at the Asylum: Streamers; rubber creepy crawlies; buckets of candies; and wild costume parties. You name it, she did it. The lunatics would do their best to help, but the nurses would step in and do most of the heavy work. And when decorating was over, she would gather the gang together and take a picture of the beautiful Halloween scenery in the Asylum. Come on Franny, get a little closer into frame; camera can’t capture half of you, said Georgie. Come on Frances, what the hell are you doing there? Leave that skeleton alone and get into Frame. I’m sorry, Michelle, I couldn’t help myself, I wanted to be with Mr. Skeleton. He wants me. Oh brother, she is attached to another piece of plastic, again. Jack shut up; you’re ruining the picture! Feck you, Michelle; you can’t tell me what to do. And before Georgie took the picture; the gang she called to gather for it: split up. Leavin...
3. "Frances and Mr. Skeleton Have a Heart to Heart" When nighttime comes, and the light dims in the ward. Life wakes up and plays. Lunatics and staff and more folks in the Asylum are strapped in their rooms. Suffering through the night. Restless. Nothing to do. Just watching brownish orange lights pierced through curtains and spot the ceiling. Listening to the guards and other staff pace back and forward through the hallway. Whispering amongst each other; thinking that they are really slick for whispering; thinking that the lunatics won’t hear their conversation. Yet they do. On and on about the mundane stuff, what they had for supper; who they saw and spoke to; where they’re planning to go; where they dream to be than here in the Asylum; what movies to watch; who’s really good at flipping coke bottles. The whole nine yards. Sometimes there would be conversations of sex and other things. One in particular. Michelle and Lisa (roommates) both heard a voice; a young man; whis...
2 "Buzzer" Inside the Ladies Bathroom, two young nurses (Rachel and Bridgette) plastering red lipstick; blue eye shadow makeup on their fair soft faces in front of a mirror, chatting and what not. They are getting themselves ready to go out and about to have a good time out at the bar or some other joints were young folks hang out these days in 94'. Sometimes they like to sneak out at night and catch a concert. Or go to the mall and grab themselves a fat cheeseburger and stuff their mouth in and drink themselves a Coke or Pepsi: all the while sneaking out having their folks worried about them. Their lucky that they have parents that care about them. Some of them wouldn't bother to look for their teeny. They were too occupied with their afflictions and addictions. Sitting their behinds on the couch and watch dateline or Sally Jessy Raphael with a can a beer in their hand. Stepping to another dimension than the one they are in right no...
